Worlds 2017 – Brasilia – Closing Ceremony

To the jury and the steward for supervising the event and helding the organizers and the pilots.
Thank you to the organizers Chico, Nani, Betinho, Cid and all their staff for the great effort they put in organizing this comp and for making us fell so welcome in the beautiful Brasilia.
Thanks to our Aero Club d’Italia, it’s President, it’s Director, it’s staff for the huge support.
The biggest thank you to all the pilots: your incredible competing level and hang gliding’s skills, motivate us to keep on our effort to improve every year. You guys rock!
We are very proud of our individual medalist Alex and Christian, but we are even more proud of our team’s gold medal, because we strongly belive that is better to be a small part of something bigger than to be alone both in victory and defeat.
Winning five world team gold medals in a row with the same generation of pilots is something never achieved in the history of our sport and for this reason we would like to thank all the pilots that over the last 20 years have been part of the team.
In particular, we would like to remember Mino Bricoli, Angelo Crapanzano, Luigi Pascal e Maurizio Bignami. They are not among us anymore but they are always with us.
Last, we would like to invite all of you in Italy next year to the pre-worlds and in 2019 to the twenty second world championship.
The beautiful Carnia will be ready to welcome you.
The organizer have been working for months already to be sure you will have an amazing experience both in the sky and on the ground.
We have been told they have special arrangements with the good weather, so be sure you won’t miss it!

Grazie agli organizzatori, Chico, Nani, Betinho, Cid e tutto il loro staff per il grande sforzo espresso nell’organizzare questa competizione e per averci fatto sentire i benvenuti nella stupenda Brasilia.
Grazie al nostro Aero Club d’Italia, il suo Presidente, il suo Direttore e il suo staff per l’enorme sostegno.
Il più grande ringraziamento a tutti i piloti: il vostro incredibile livello di competitività e le vostre capacità volatorie, ci hanno motivato, ogni anno, per un continuo miglioramento. Ragazzi siete delle rocce!
Siamo molto orgogliosi dei nostri medagliati Alex e Chrisitian, ma siamo ancora più orgogliosi della medaglia d’oro del nostro team, perché crediamo fermamente che sia meglio essere una piccola parte di qualcosa di più grande, piuttosto che essere soli da vincitori o perdenti.
Vincere cinque medaglie d’oro mondiali di squadra consecutivamente con la stessa generazione di piloti è qualcosa di mai accaduto nella storia del nostro sport e per questa ragione vogliamo ringraziare tutti i piloti che, nel corso degli ultimi vent’anni hanno fatto parte di questa squadra.
In particolare vogliamo ricordare Mino Bricoli, Angelo Crapanzano, Luigi Pascal e Maurizio Bignami. Loro non sono più tra noi ma sono sempre con noi.
Infine, vogliamo invitarvi tutti in Italia il prossimo anno per i pre-mondiali e nel 2019 per il ventiduesimo campionato del mondo.
La stupenda Carnia sarà pronta ad accogliervi.
Gli organizzatori stanno già lavorando da mesi per assicurarvi un’incredibile esperienza in cielo così come a terra.
Ci è stato detto che hanno accordi speciali con il bel tempo, quindi vedete di non mancare!
